Max Roser, \u00e9conomiste \u00e0 l&#8217;universit\u00e9 d&#8217;Oxford, a pr\u00e9par\u00e9 une <a href=\"https:\/\/ourworldindata.org\/a-history-of-global-living-conditions-in-5-charts\">repr\u00e9sentation graphique de l&#8217;\u00e9tat de notre monde <\/a>au cours des deux derniers si\u00e8cles. Observez la baisse des taux de mortalit\u00e9 infantile, un indicateur sensible de la sant\u00e9 globale de la communaut\u00e9. L&#8217;essor de la d\u00e9mocratie dans certaines parties du monde favorise la circulation des id\u00e9es, la collaboration et la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9.  <\/p>\n<p>Roser souligne qu&#8217;il est de plus en plus \u00e9tonnant que ces taux se soient am\u00e9lior\u00e9s malgr\u00e9 l&#8217;augmentation spectaculaire de la population mondiale au cours de la m\u00eame p\u00e9riode. La richesse a en fait \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e pendant cette p\u00e9riode ; les \u00e9conomies du monde se sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es et ont m\u00eame d\u00e9pass\u00e9 l&#8217;augmentation de la population. Lorsque j&#8217;\u00e9tais plus jeune, on craignait qu&#8217;une augmentation de la population ne se traduise par une diminution des ressources pour chaque personne (la &#8220;th\u00e9orie du canot de sauvetage&#8221;). Dieu a cr\u00e9\u00e9 l&#8217;homme et le monde de telle sorte que nous avons la possibilit\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er et de distribuer des richesses. Il ne s&#8217;agit pas d&#8217;un &#8220;jeu \u00e0 somme nulle&#8221;.    <\/p>\n<p>Il est difficile de se rendre compte \u00e0 quel point nous sommes bien lotis par rapport \u00e0 nos arri\u00e8re-arri\u00e8re-grands-p\u00e8res et \u00e0 nos m\u00e8res. \u00c0 l&#8217;\u00e9poque (et m\u00eame dans certaines communaut\u00e9s appauvries aujourd&#8217;hui), les taux de mortalit\u00e9 des enfants de moins de cinq ans pouvaient approcher 50 % de tous les enfants n\u00e9s. <\/p>\n<p>En tant que chr\u00e9tiens, ce type de pr\u00e9sentation nous aide \u00e0<em> concentrer notre action !<\/em> S&#8217;occuper des pauvres et des marginalis\u00e9s signifie que nous nous occupons des 10 % de personnes en situation d&#8217;extr\u00eame pauvret\u00e9. Ils peuvent \u00eatre difficiles \u00e0 atteindre, souffrent parfois d&#8217;oppression et de violence au-del\u00e0 de ce que nous pouvons imaginer, y compris la guerre, la violence \u00e0 la maison, et toutes sortes de privations. En tant que professionnels de la sant\u00e9 chr\u00e9tiens, nous avons le privil\u00e8ge de mettre de c\u00f4t\u00e9 notre d\u00e9sir de confort et de richesse, et de servir ceux auxquels J\u00e9sus fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence lorsqu&#8217;il dit : \u00ab J&#8217;avais besoin de v\u00eatements et vous m&#8217;avez v\u00eatu, j \u201c\u00e9tais malade et vous m&#8217;avez soign\u00e9, j\u201d \u00e9tais en prison et vous \u00eates venus me voir. \u00bb (Matthieu 25:36)  <\/p>\n<p>Il est encourageant de savoir qu&#8217;en tant que croyants en Christ, nous pouvons nous joindre \u00e0 des personnes de bonne volont\u00e9 dans le monde entier afin de poursuivre cette bataille pour ceux qui sont moins bien lotis que nous.
